Eid al-Adha starts on 4th October and will last for four days, it is the second of two religious holidays celebrated by Muslims worldwide each year. It honors the willingness of Abraham to sacrifice his promised son.
Cows and other large animals can be sacrificed by a group of Muslims up to seven people, while a sheep is slaughtered for one Muslim or a family. One-third of the sacrificial animal is eaten by the donor himself and his family, one third is given to neighbors and relatives, and the rest is given to the poor. A festive table must display special meat dishes. Friends, relatives and children exchange presents, visit family and friends.
